We held our music concert on Monday afternoon. The children were brilliant - what an array of musical talent! Thank you to all parents who came along to listen and support the children. Music tuition starts again after Easter.

Parents' Consultations were held over two evenings to discuss progress and targets. These were well attended and we hope parents found them to be informative.

All classes contributed to a wonderful Easter Service led by Reverend Thorniley on Tuesday.

The Eco Warriors held their Easter Raffle this week and raised £85 which will go towards buying two new bins for our playground.

Mrs Sale and the Charity Ministers have been selling Harvington Poetry Books this week. All money raised will be going to the Vale Wildlife.

We break up today for the Easter holidays and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 16th April.

On Monday Nursery and Reception class enjoyed an Easter 'Together Day'. Miss Willmore read the Easter story to the children and then the children took part in some lovely Easter activities. These included making Easter crosses, playing pin the tail on the bunny and practising their orienteering skills whilst taking part in an Easter egg hunt! Mrs Johnson had the extremely difficult job of judging the decorated Easter egg competition as they were all so brilliant!

On Wednesday Mrs Sams and Miss Davidson accompanied three of our Year 2 children to a cluster dance event at St Richard's First School.

Yesterday, we had two classes out on different trips. Year 1 visited The Cotswold Wildlife Park in Burford and Year 4 travelled to Birmingham to visit the Singers Hill Synagogue and History Museum. All the children were so well behaved and were a credit to our school.

To coincide with World Book Day we hosted a Scholastic Book Fayre in the school hall. Children visited the fayre with their class during the day and the fayre was opened to parents on Monday and Wednesday afternoon. The school receives money from each book sold and this will be used to improve our own class library in school. We will let you know the amount raised shortly. Thank you to everyone who supported us.

On Tuesday 13th March, all classes from Year R to Year 5 participated in a legendary Lego workshop for our DT day. Two amazing people called Mr Garside and Maria hosted the event. We were challenged to build a sports village complete with houses, train stations, ports and sporting arenas (many were impeccably built). At the end of the workshop all of the children came together to share and look at their amazing designs and inventions. Sadly we had to dismantle the models (a few tears were shed)! We all thoroughly enjoyed the workshops. Mrs Clarke, who organised the event, said "The teamwork and engagement was fabulous - it was a great day!" Sophie H in Year 5 said "There is only one word to sum up the event...AMAZING!" Thank you to the PTFA for funding the event.

During the Full Governing Body Meeting on Tuesday, our Pupil Parliament Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister gave a very impressive presentation to the governors. Elaina and Lily were both confident, clear and very knowledgeable and they shared their enthusiasm for our Pupil Parliament so well.

Mrs Clark accompanied two Eco Warriors to a cluster event at Bengeworth Academy on Thursday. They met with children from other local schools and shared their ideas.

We are excited to let you know about our latest fundraising event for our school charity of the year - Vale Wildlife!
Our talented journalists, who produce the pupil newsletter (HFS news), are running a poetry competition! Everyone can enter, from Nursery to Year Five and there is no theme, so you can compose your poem about anything you like!
We have extended the deadline for entries to Friday 16th March, there will, of course, be dazzling prizes for the best poems and the winners will have the opportunity to perform their verse to the rest of the school. There is no fee to enter the competition but we will be compiling everyone's work and creating our very own Harvington Poem Book, which will be on sale before the end of term.
Please email your entry to the office (office@harvington.worcs.sch.uk), any handwritten copies can be placed in the basket outside Year Five.

From today until Wednesday 14^th March we will be hosting a Book Fayre in the school hall! Your child will visit the Book Fayre with their class and will have the opportunity to buy a book to bring home (book prices range from £2.99 to £6.99). Please note that children can buy as many books as they would like.

The Book Fayre will also be open for parents to visit on Monday 12^th from 3pm to 3.30pm

The school will receive money from each book sold and this will be used to improve our own class library in school.

Please send your child into school with their Book Fayre money in a named envelope.

There is an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s class teacher on Monday 26^th or Tuesday 27^th March. Information regarding how to book an appointment has been sent out to you via text and/or email. Please follow the link on the message when you receive it. Meetings are held in the school hall, please enter via the Nursery gate.

Many congratulations to Laura and Hannah of Class Catering who were awarded the highest Food Hygiene Rating of 5 Stars by the Food Standards Agency this week.

The children returned to school after enjoying the half term holiday.

Just before half term our fabulous Year 5 class visited Malvern Outdoor Centre. The children were extremely excited and were very organised for their time away from home. During the trip the children learnt lots of new skills including how to make their bed and how to make their own sandwiches! They showed lots of courage and perseverance when trying new activities which involved: climbing, crossing bridges and travelling down zip wires. On the last day we walked to the top of the Worcestershire Beacon; the highest point in Worcestershire and admired the view. All of the adults were very impressed with how the children encouraged one another and how they were all so positive about trying new things.

Children and staff held a celebration of all things ‘Alice In Wonderland’ to mark this year’s World Book Day. All pupils came to school proudly modelling their homemade ‘hat’ creations inspired by the Lewis Carroll classic! After an impressive hat parade the children joined together to enjoy a Mad Hatters Tea Party, tasting the delicious jam tarts they made earlier in the day. Thank you to Miss Beaver who organised the day.

On Thursday the snow began to fall and all children were collected by 3pm. The school closed on Friday due to the weather.
