We welcomed many parents into school on Monday evening for Meet the Teacher.

This is always a great opportunity for parents to meet with school staff and to explore our school and lovely outdoor learning area.

The PTFA also held their AGM on Monday. Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting or offered support. It was very positive and we look forward to sharing more details soon.

We are delighted that so many children have signed up for after school clubs this term. School run clubs began this week which include Girls Football, Young Engineers, Handbells, Eco and Netball. To ensure that these clubs are enjoyed by all we have expectations of attendance and behaviour. It is expected that children attend every session please.

Miss Willmore led an Online Safety Presentation to parents this morning. Thank you to those parents who joined us - we hope you found it informative.

A Maths Presentation to Parents will be held on Monday 2nd October at 9.30am in the school hall followed by visits to classrooms. We hope parents will be able to join us.

This week our presentations for the role of Prime Minister have taken place.  The whole of Key Stage two voted for who they thought would be the best Prime Minister and I am pleased to announce that Lily Kealy was the successful candidate.  The teachers have been very busy going through all of the application forms for the other minister roles and the successful applicants should have received a letter to inform them of their new role.  Congratulations to all of the children who have been successful and thank you to everyone who applied or did a presentation. We will keep you up to date with our projects!

We welcomed Helen Davies from Severn Arts into school on Monday who will be teaching our Year 4 class how to play the violin. Helen will attend on a weekly basis. Children are reminded to bring in their instruments every Monday.

Reverend Richard, together with him team, led an Open the Book assembly on Wednesday. The children always enjoy their imaginative story telling.

A child from each year group participated in a 'Golden Tea' with Mrs Fishbourne. It was lovely to hear how well the start of the term is going whilst enjoying delicious biscuits and juice.

We are pleased to announce that, with over 67% of the votes, this year's school charity is The Vale Wildlife. We look forward to supporting this local animal rescue centre.

We welcomed all our Reception children into class full time this week. They have enjoyed a busy week learning new routines, exploring the school grounds, getting to know their teachers and making lots of new friends.

On Tuesday Mrs Clark met with our Eco Warriors to discuss what they wanted to achieve as ECO warriors and the children decided that saving energy and recycling was the most important. Their ECO message is:

TURN IT DOWN, SWITCH IT OFF, REUSE IT OR RECYCLE IT!!!!!

Music lessons started again this week. Mr Blackman from The Musical Box teaches guitar lessons on a Tuesday and Mr Telford teaches flute, cornet, keyboard and recorder lessons on Friday mornings. We look forward to listening to the children play their instruments at our Music Concert in December.

On Wednesday, Mr Kings from Direct Sports Provision, led an archery after school club. The children had great fun aiming at the targets.

After another successful year of fundraising for charity (we raised a whopping £1539 for St Richard's Hospice), the children and staff took part in a vote this week to choose another charity to support over the coming year. The choices were The British Heart Foundation, Vale Wildlife and Christian Aid - the winner will be announced shortly.
