Roots and Shoots

Children in Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 enjoy a session of 'Roots and Shoots' once a month on rotation. They learn about growing fruit and vegetables from seed and how to look after their crops. When the vegetables and fruit are fully grown they enjoy selling them from our Roots and Shoots shop. The children also use our wider grounds, develop bug hotels, make and refill bird feeding stations and look after our grounds. They enjoy being one of the important gardeners for the week and following the leadership of the child chosen as Head Gardener. If you are in school ask to look at our Roots and Shoots Memory book.
