What is the PTFA?

What is the PTFA and what does it do?

The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association – the PTFA – is a long standing home-school association. It is made up of parents whose children attend the school and others who would like to support us. All parents and carers automatically join this body when their child joins the school.

The organisation has two principal aims:

  • to raise additional funds for the school, to supplement the school budget and provide more for the children
  • to strengthen the school community by organising events where all members of the community can meet and socialise.

All money raised goes directly towards providing resources for the children. It helps us to finance immediate and longer-term goals. We are most grateful for the support of the Friends and hope that their interest and generosity will continue in the future. The money this body raise makes a significant difference to the provision the children receive

Autumn Term Events

Harvington PTFA Autumn Disco 2019

We held our first disco of the year on Friday 18th October.  We welcomed many new Reception children who seemed to have so much fun.

KS1 enjoyed treats and drinks along with waving glow sticks and they all got very excited playing the disco games!

KS2 boogied the night away stopping only briefly for hot dogs. The enthusiasm in the dance competition was electric.

We hope all the children enjoyed the evening and are looking for to the next one.

Thank you to all the staff and helpers for making it run smoothly on the night and to all the parents for braving the rain to get the children there. We raised a massive £380.00. A great start to the year.

Fireworks Night 2019!

What a night! The atmosphere was amazing.

Before the event even began, we knew it was going to be great due to amount of pre bought tickets. This was confirmed early on with a queue at the door eagerly awaiting to be let in.

Everyone that came enjoyed pork baps, hot dogs, candy floss, sweets and gallons of Hot chocolate. Not forgetting, the huge amount of delicious cakes that were made and donated.

This year we had LED light tubes for sale and they proved very popular with the children, and adults!

The anticipation grew as we waited for the show to begin and it did not disappoint. This year was even bigger and better than the last. Thank you to ultimate Fireworks for putting on a great show and to quote someone who came up to us after and said “the best display I’ve seen in years.”

We raised a staggering £655. Thank you to everyone that helped make this event such a success but most of all thank you to everyone for coming!
