Halfords store in Evesham have very kindly donated twelve helmets for our Nursery and Reception children to use when they are riding their tricycles. We are always talking to the children about how we keep safe and wearing helmets is an important part of safety. We are very grateful for the support of Halfords in providing this equipment.

We welcomed all children back to school after the Christmas break.

The children took part in a PSHE day on Wednesday where each class looked at friendship and companionship.

The whole school enjoyed an Art day on Thursday. Each class was assigned an artist to find out more about. Nursery and Reception looked at Paul Klee, Year One looked at Kandinsky, Year Two looked at Romero Britto, Year Three looked at Andy Warhol, Year Four looked at Joan Miro and Year Five looked at Picasso. It was fantastic to see all the fabulous work that went on throughout the school across the day. Not only were the children replicating a piece of art in the style of their artist, they also found out about the history of their artist. Phoebe from Reception said she 'loved being an artist for the day'. Well done on some beautiful pieces of art everyone!

Year 4 began their violin lessons again on Monday with Mrs Davies from Severn Arts.

Music lessons also started this week. Mr Blackman is teaching guitar on Tuesdays and Mr Telford is teaching recorder, flute, cornet and keyboard on Fridays. Please remind children to bring in their instruments/music each week.

We welcomed Reverend Thorniley and his Open the Book Team into school on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday Year 5 visited the Almonry Museum in Evesham to learn more about Simon De Montfort and the Battle of Evesham. We had a great time looking at all of the artefacts, walking to Abbey Park to see where people believe Simon De Montfort was buried, learning about heraldry and some of us even had the chance to dress up as a knight! Lucy said her favourite part was seeing Simon De Montfort's grave and Tamsin loved all of the artefacts.

Year 3 were excited to have their first swimming lesson yesterday. Lessons will be held each Thursday until 28th March.

We were joined by Mr Stansbie from Worcestershire County Council this morning who led pedestrian training for Years 1 to 4. We wish to thank Mr Stansbie and all the parents/carers who braved the cold and came to help Year 2 and Year 4 with their practical training around the village.
