On Monday 9th July, the Nursery held their graduation ceremony for all their older children starting school in September. It was a very emotional occasion, not just for the parents and families, but for the staff as well. We are very proud of them all and they sang a very special song beautifully.
Thank you so much for everyone who attended as we know it makes such a difference to them
On Tuesday we held our first ever evening music concert. There were amazing performances including singing and playing. The event was very professionally presented by our Art and our Charity Ministers and they were leaders in all the organisation, tickets and refreshments.
Thank you to Mrs Sale for supporting our ministers in doing such a great job.
Thank you to all of you for your support.
We raised over £328 for this year’s charity, The Vale Wildlife.

Reception children hosted their very own art gallery last week. Their fabulous artwork showed that they were inspired by many different artists, including Goldsworthy, Kandinsky and Gaudi. As well as producing the art, Reception class also organised the whole event brilliantly. They wrote invitations, created signs and became art specialists. Other classes visited our gallery and the feedback was very positive.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported during Sports Day. The children were absolutely brilliant and showed fantastic team spirit. A special "well done" to the Year Three Class who planned, organised and ran the activities for the whole school.
Thank you to Miss Beaver for leading this event.
Thank you to those who attended our superbly successful Summer Fayre. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in the planning, preparation and tidying up. The event was led by the PTFA members and, not only was it a fabulous community event, it raised over £2000 for the school.

On Monday all of KS2 became artists for the day! After learning about the artist Vincent Van Gogh and looking at his piece of artwork ‘Sunflowers’, the children got their sketch books and sketching pencils out. The morning was spent practising different skills and producing artwork Van Gogh style. They all worked really well and produced some brilliant masterpieces which you will be able to see hanging in the hall very soon!
Mrs Sale and three Pupil Parliament pupils visited Bengeworth Academy on Tuesday morning to take part in a Learning Walk.
On Wednesday a group of children from Year 5 also visited Bengeworth Academy for a morning of poetry. The children listened to a piece of music and wrote what they could hear. Based on that piece of music, they created their own poems working with other children from local schools.
Ethan said: “I really enjoyed working with different people and I was pleased with the poem I wrote about a warrior.”

Year 5 will be putting their new skills in to practice in June when they take part in the Evesham schools regatta. Thank you to Mrs Elmes, Mrs Sale and Mrs Scott who managed to steer the boats brilliantly!
On Friday it was maths day at Harvington. Back in the classroom other exciting maths based activities were going on including maths trials around school where the children had to work together to solve questions such as “How many children are in school today?” and “How many door handles are there in school?”
Thank you to the PTFA for funding the workshops for the school, the children had a fantastic day.

We have started our new system of having our milk delivered in recyclable containers. The children have learned how to pour the milk carefully into their new beakers and are enjoying drinking the milk without the need to use plastic straws. We have worked out that we have stopped the use and waste of approximately 100 straws per day!
Wow! We are making such a difference to our environment.

In light of the recent movement to reduce the use of plastic, our ECO group have organised for our school to become ‘plastic straw free.’ Very soon we will be issued with free sets of re-useable beakers from our milk suppliers and larger bottles of milk. Not only will this mean we will not use all those small, plastic straws, we will also reduce waste and our need for all those small cartons. Thank you to Mrs Clarke and the ECO Team for organising this for us and helping us
to help our environment.
Year Four performed their song ‘Singsational’ at the Evesham Arts Centre this morning. They were amazing! They sang really loudly and performed with confidence. They also enjoyed singing with all the other children from our neighbouring schools. Thank you to Miss Webber and Mrs Scott for helping Year Four perform so well.
All other after school clubs start next week with the exception of handbell club which starts on 9th May.
