‘Together we love, learn and grow’

Week commencing 20th May 2019

Six excited Key Stage Two children attended a poetry writing workshop at Bengeworth Academy on Monday 20th May.  The morning is designed to inspire young people to set their imaginations to work, and was delivered by a published children's poet - Debra Bertulis!  Everyone had a very successful session, listening to and interpreting the famous 'In the Hall of the Mountain King', then drafting poems before performing them in front of an audience of children and adults from various local schools! Well done Sophie, Eli, Lois, Ethan, Tom and Daisie!

On Monday afternoon Year One walked to Ellenden Farm.  We have been completing a topic all about plants and how they grow and went to see a real working farm in action. We loved walking around the orchard and seeing all the fruit trees growing. We got a chance to visit the farm shop and see all the amazing fruits and vegetables they had on offer. We challenged ourselves to see if we could name all the vegetables in the shop... it was very tricky.  We each took some money along to the shop to buy some fruit and vegetables for our cooking day this week. We enjoyed selecting the produce and working out how much money and change we would need at the till. We are very much looking forward to cooking up some yummy treats for our garden party this week.

Year 1 enjoyed our end of topic Garden Party this week. We spent the morning doing lots of cooking with the ingredients we bought from Ellenden Farm. We made apple scones and spinach and cheese muffins. We loved sharing our baking with our grown-ups during our picnic on the field. Thank you to all those who attended.

Our Home School Link together with our Family Support Worker led a Sleep/Bedtime Routine workshop on Wednesday. Thank you to those parents who attended - we hope you found it informative.
