‘Together we love, learn and grow’
On Monday Year 1 enjoyed a fabulous visit to the Bishops Wood Centre in Stourport-on-Severn. The children made smelly cocktails, took part in a mirror walk looking at the canopies, made dens for woodland animals and searched for animal footprints. They even took part in some tree-hugging! A fantastic day was had by all.
We welcomed Mr Bob James from the charity, Teams4U to our assembly on Tuesday. Mr James spoke to the children about the shoebox appeal and the importance of giving a gift to a vulnerable child or family in Eastern Europe at Christmas time. All the children were given a leaflet about the project. We look forward to receiving many filled shoeboxes to pass on to Mr James. Shoeboxes need to be returned by Friday 4th November.
On Wednesday we held another very successful 'Come Dine with Me' lunch for parents/carers - thank you to everyone who attended.
Our Reception class have been visited by a policeman and a nurse this week to tie in with their theme 'Occupations - what we want to be when we grow up'. Next week the firemen are due to visit.
Today our Year 2 visited the Thinktank Science Museum in Birmingham to experience the Planetarium and explore the hands-on exhibits throughout the museum. They also visited the science garden where they looked at levers and pulleys. The children all agreed it was a great day out.
