Harvington C of E First and Nursery School

‘Together we love, learn and grow’

Week commencing 3rd October 2016

On Monday we held a Maths and Little Big Maths Presentation in the school hall followed by a visit to classrooms by parents.  Details of our curriculum are on our website (under the key information section) and further maths information under your child’s ‘class pages’. There is also a web page providing support for e-safety.

Our  ECO Warriors: Lara, Lennon, Emilia, Eli, John, Lucy, Darcy, Reece, Harry, Maria, Mrs Clark and Mrs Fishbourne had a second meeting this week. We celebrated the fabulous ECO work that classes had achieved. So many vegetable beds have been harvested and the produce either shared at lunchtime or eaten in classes. Year One said they enjoyed tasting their carrots and beetroot and Year Two loved making apple crumble and chutney. Year Three shared their produce at lunchtime and both Nursery and Reception enjoyed trying their vegetables.

This week’s ‘handy tip’ is Darcy’s suggestion:

‘If you are cold then put on a jumper.’’

Mrs Fishbourne accompanied four members of our Sunshine Group to Worcester Cathedral on Friday where they met with Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The children participated in many harvest themed activities and were involved in creative prayer along with many other local schools. A memorable day was enjoyed by all.

On Friday night we held a film night in school to raise money for this year's chosen charity - St Richard's Hospice. The children arrived in their pyjamas and brought cushions to sit on. Thank you to everyone who supported us.
