Happy New Year Everyone!

December 2018 most definitely passed in a blur of fundraising events and PTFA funded festive fun – Santa bought all the pupils a book and didn’t we all enjoy the pantomime (Oh no we didn’t!)

Early in December the annual Santa Sleigh Pull throughout Harvington and Norton villages, raised a record breaking £523! Despite a poor turnout from actual PTFA members, we were lucky that some of the Football lads who always do us proud, include some Dads!  I have promised we will try to rally more support in 2019 – imagine how much we could raise with more Santa Helpers!

The Christmas Production of Hey Ewe! was brilliant and you could see the children enjoyed performing it, almost as much as the adults enjoyed watching it!  The PTFA sold raffle tickets for a prize draw at each performance and once again the parents and villagers didn’t let us down – we raised £280 in total, over the 4 shows.  The prizes included two beautiful festive hampers from Morrisons, a hamper of jams and chutneys from Hedley’s Homemade, and a cream tea for 2 from Hampton Farm Shop.

And so, onto the next event in our busy schedule!  Burns Night takes place this year on Saturday 26th January 2019, and plans and preparations are busy taking place.  We already have confirmed auction prizes from Hillers Farm Shop, Hampton Farm Shop and Cotswold Farm Park.  Menus are being discussed, drinks are being purchased and tickets/availability will be sent out to parents over the next fortnight.

What is the PTFA?

What is the PTFA and what does it do?

The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association – the PTFA – is a long standing home-school association. It is made up of parents whose children attend the school and others who would like to support us. All parents and carers automatically join this body when their child joins the school.

The organisation has two principal aims:

  • to raise additional funds for the school, to supplement the school budget and provide more for the children
  • to strengthen the school community by organising events where all members of the community can meet and socialise.

All money raised goes directly towards providing resources for the children. It helps us to finance immediate and longer-term goals. We are most grateful for the support of the Friends and hope that their interest and generosity will continue in the future. The money this body raise makes a significant difference to the provision the children receive

Please use this form to order tickets / feed back on events / make suggestions. Please also let us know if you are able to help in ANY way. The PTFA depends on help from our fabulous parents - whether it be helping at events or joining us for meetings every couple of months. Perhaps you could bake us a cake for the Summer Sizzler? All help in all forms very gratefully received - we'd love to hear from you!
