Postural control refers to a child's ability to maintain an upright posture while seated and without support. A child who has the correct postural control can sustain a seated position without finding it difficult or becoming tired quickly. Posture is mostly associated with sitting up or standing, however, good posture is actually something we can promote in every aspect of all movements and is important because it provides a basis of support that allows the arms and legs to move smoothly through the variety of different activities daily.
