As part of our school vision, 'together we love, learn and grow', the support of charities and charitable acts is important to us all. The school focuses on a main charity, or charitable act, throughout the year and this is chosen and organised by our charity ministers. These ministers are democratically elected at the start of the year and take their role very seriously.
They organise presentations of a range of charities, then a vote and a charity is elected.
We have supported a range of charities over the last few years including The Guide Dogs, The Midlands Air Ambulance, St Richard’s Hospice, The Vale Wildlife Charity. Most recently we have chosen to lead charitable acts and the children have completed a kindness calendar and collected items for Caring Hands in Evesham.
We have also supported our school link in Tanzania by collecting used football kits as well as fundraising for inflatable balls for the children to play with. In turn we have been learning about life in Tanzania and we have received details of the girl we are sponsoring to attend school.
The school also supports Children in Need, Water Aid and Red Nose Day. An important event in our school calendar is our Harvest Festival when we collect and deliver Harvest baskets to the senior residents in our village. This act of kindness is always very much welcomed and we are inundated with kind 'thank you' messages afterwards.
